scientists agree that celestial matter primarily existed in the form of gas.

In simple terms, before the creation of galaxies, there was a large quantity of gas or cosmic clouds. The term ‘smoke’ is more fitting than ‘gas’ to describe this primordial state of the universe. In the Qur’an, the word “dukhan,” meaning smoke, is used to describe this state:

ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَهِيَ دُخَانٌ فَقَالَ لَهَا وَلِلْأَرْضِ انْتِيَا طَوْعًا أَوْ كَرْهًا قَالَتَا طَائِعِينَ

Then He turned to the heavens when it was smoke, and said to it and to the earth: ‘Come willingly or unwillingly.’ They said: ‘We come willingly.'” (Surah Fussilat: 11)

Moreover, the natural consequence of the Big Bang theory aligns with this description, and this knowledge was unknown to anyone before Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). So, what could be the source of this knowledge at that time?

(1) Muslims always send peace and blessings upon the names of all the prophets mentioned.
